Chelsea, which is already badly hit by Shevchenko’s poor performance during its first season, is now facing the onslaught of rumor mills doing the rounds in European media, which suggests that Andriy Shevchenko is returning back to AC Milan.

The media in Europe has reportedly quoted Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho as suggesting that Andriy Shevchenko could be available for bidding this summer. The rumors were further fuelled by the President of AC Milan, Silvio Berlusconi who said that the AC Milan’s doors would always be kept wide open for their old guard. All these rumors irritated Jose Mourinho to the extent that Chelsea is planning to sue the newspapers that quoted him in links to the rumors.

Further the club’s website posted the following statement that said, “Chelsea and Jose Mourinho totally refute any of the comments that have appeared in European newspapers regarding Andriy Shevchenko.” Andriy Shevchenko driving the last nail into the rumors of coffin said that he does not want to go back to AC Milan and further added saying, “I want another chance with Chelsea.”
