Shevchenko vows to do better this season
05 Oct 2007
Andriy Shevchenko, the terrific Ukrainian striker has failed miserably during his first season in England, where he scored only four goals from thirty appearances for his club Chelsea. When Shevchenko moved to Chelsea in 2006 on a four-year contract for a £30 million deal in 2006 all eyes were on him for he has tremendously performed for AC Milan during his stint with the club for seven long years. But sadly Shevchenko could not repeat his glorious performance for Chelsea, which was widely publicized around Europe and the media criticizing him for not living up to the expectations of millions of Chelsea fans.
Thirty-year-old Shevchenko speaking to the Sun magazine conceded that it was indeed a difficult season, a new club and a new life, for which he needs time to acclimatize to the new situation. He said, “Give me time and next season you will see the real Shevchenko.” He further added, “I just wish people would give me the time to acclimatize and to get used to it all, then you will see”.
Andriy Shivchenko, the amazing striker is all set to regain his form and prove his worth this season for Chelsea.
